New Paintings and Glass Works, 2008

Melinda Harper presented a range of new paintings and painted glass works in her exhibition for Sofitel Melbourne On Collin curated by Global Art Projects.

Melinda Harper (b. 1965) is a highly regarded abstract painter whose work has been exhibited widely in Australia and is held in numerous public and private collections.  Harper was involved in the influential Store 5 artist group in Melbourne in the 1990s.  Her work explores the relationship between colour and form primarily through complex geometric abstraction of latticed stripes, squares, rectangles, circles and intersecting planes of colour.  Her painted work on glass extends this work into the 3D form.
