Metro Trains Melbourne - Richmond Station Artwork Expression of Interest

Global Art Projects (GAP) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists living and working in Victoria, Australia on behalf of Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM).

GAP is interested in artists working in a wide range of 2D media such as painting, drawing, photography, printmaking or graphic design whose artwork is suitable for application to 2D surfaces. Final artwork will need to be delivered as digital artwork files.

The artwork will be installed at Richmond Station in Melbourne.

Please refer to the Creative Brief before completing the Expression Of Interest form - links for both below

(Please note: you will need to sign into a Google account to complete this EOI form and upload images of your artwork)

Once installed, artworks will be in-situ for a period of up to 3 years, with possible extension by agreement with the artist. A total fee of $10,000 will cover the artwork concept, delivery and licensing fee for the initial 3 year period.

Artists need to be either living, working or studying within Victoria and must be over 18 years of age.

We encourage EOIs from First Nations artists and artists with diverse backgrounds and a range of abilities.

Please note the following:

  • The purpose of the EOI process is to gather information about artists potentially suitable for this opportunity. Submitting an EOI does not guarantee you will be shortlisted.

  • The selection of the successful artist will be made by a panel including representatives of Global Art Projects, Metro Trains Melbourne, Department of Transport and Planning and external stakeholders including Yarra City Council.

  • At the EOI stage we are not seeking any proposals, ideas, concepts or sketches. If you are shortlisted for this opportunity, you will be paid to prepare specific concepts working to an Artist Brief for the identified site.

Global Art Projects respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners and ongoing custodians of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.  We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.  We celebrate the continuing and vital cultures of First Nation peoples in Australia and elsewhere around the world.
